Waste Minimization

Reducing hazardous chemicals at the University of Central Florida.

As part of its environmental initiative, the

University of Central Florida

would like to encourage all chemical users

to participate in this chemical reduction program.

Policy:

The University of Central Florida is required to implement a waste minimization to protect the environment and employees that are involved with hazardous wastes. The policy entails reduction of toxic chemicals, inventory, and purchasing procedures.

Objective:

The Waste Minimization Program is designed to reduce, reuse, and recycle the hazardous waste generated on university property. It will reduce cost and avoid environmental exposure.

Scope:

The Waste Minimization Plan involves regulation and reduction of chemicals on campus to provide a safe environment for employees and faculty. The program is based on the legal requirements for generators of hazardous chemicals and seeks to be cost effective, as well as, environmentally friendly.
